12. Replacing the crystal
There must be no other transmitters/models with the same frequency in the range of the transmitter, because the
transmitters interfere with each other. As a result, the models no longer respond correctly to the transmitter com-
mands. If there are any other model vehicles in your range, talk to the other operators about the frequencies they use.
For safety reasons, you should only use crystals that are explicitly recommended by the supplier for use in
your remote control system.
• Before a crystal change, turn off the speed controller first and then the transmitter. Discconnect the two driving
batteries from the speed controller and completely disconnect the plug-in connections.
• Pull the crystal out of the transmitter. For this, observe the operating instructions of your transmitter.
• Insert a transmitter crystal with a different channel in the same frequency band into the plastics holder (crystal
orientation is unimportant).
Please ensure that you place the correct crystal in the holder. Transmitter crystals are normally marked
with the letters T or TX (T = transmitter or sender).
• Put a new transmitter crystal into the transmitter. Orientation is unimportant (polarity does not have to be observed).
• Pull the receiver crystal out of the vehicle’s receiver.
• The crystal suitable for the receiver has to be marked with the same channel name as the transmitter crystal. In
addition it is marked with the letter code R or RX (R = receiver).
• Insert the crystal with a suitable frequency for the transmitter into the receiver. Orientation is also unimportant here.
• Switch on the transmitter and then the speed controller/receiver and check the function of the speed controller and
the steering system; perform a range check.
