Assembly

4.

Do not place the clock in a completely closed metal casing / enclosure. Do not use a metal dial / housing.

These will interrupt or even stop the signal reception.

Assemble the parts in the following the order:

DCF radio clock

1.

Big rubber washer

2.

Dial and base of the case (not included)

3.

Small washer

4.

Central fixing nut

5.

Hour hand (not included)

6.

Minute hand (not included)

7.

Hand nut

8.

Second hand (not included)

9.

Cover of the case (not included)

10.

The hands must be set at the 0:00 position. Pull out the lock pin from the back of the clock after the hands are

set.

Battery insertion / replacement

5.

Insert an AA battery while observing the correct polarity.

Operation

6.

Once the battery is inserted, the clock will enter the reception mode. In this mode, the second hand will move for 6º (equal to

1.

a 1 second interval) every 2 seconds.

After successful reception, the clock will be set automatically. During the setting, the hands move quickly. This process takes

2.

max. 15 mins

Hang the clock at your desired location in an upright position.

3.

The clock synchronizes with the DCF signal daily at 02:00, 03:00, 08:00, 14:00 and 20:00.

4.

Change of winter / summer time is executed automatically. The clock’s hands move quickly from winter time to summer time,

5.

and they stop moving for one hour from summer time to winter time.

When the clock stops running or time deviation is observed, replace the battery.

6.

DCF reception

7.

This is a signal which is sent by a transmitter in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am

•

Main). Its range is up to 1,500 km and if transmission conditions are ideal, even

up to 2,000 km.

1500 km

2000 km

Among  other  things,  the  DCF  signal  includes  the  precise  time  (theoretical

•

deviation of 1 second in a million years!) and the date.

This means, of course, that there is no elaborate manual setting of summer and

•

winter time.
Bad reception is to be expected, e.g., with metallised insulated glass windows,

•

reinforced concrete construction, coated special wallpaper or in a cellar.

Reset the clock

8.

Only carry out the process when the hands are properly assembled and the clock has power.

1.

Use a pin (or any other small, hard object which can fit through the pin hole) to press inside the pin hole (where the lock pin is

2.

placed before assembly) at the back of the clock. You will feel some resistance when the button is pressed.

Then the hands will run quickly and the clock is now in its resetting mode.

3.

When the hands stop, insert the lock pin fully into the pin hole.

4.

Detach all the hands from the clock vertically. Do not turn the hands during this process.

5.

The clock is now reset to the zero (twelve o’clock) position.

6.
