Intended use
This IR illuminator allows the image brightening of your camera. The product is
intended for illumination and surveillance in the dark.
The voltage is supplied via 12 V/DC (suitable power supply is available as an option).
The integrated IR LEDs allow a range of up to max. 15 metres.
The IR illuminator’s integrated infrared LEDs allow night vision. Please note that
coloured image reproduction changes into black and white monochrome when
increasing darkness activates the IR-LEDs. The brightness is detected by the IR
illuminator using a photo sensor on the front.
Please keep in mind that you will render yourself liable to prosecution if you use
cameras to keep persons under observation without their knowledge and approval.
Operating the product in any other way than described above is not permitted and may
lead to damage to the product, which can give rise to risks such as short circuit, fire and
electric shock. The product must not be modified or converted. Always observe the
safety instructions included in these operating instructions. Read the operating
instructions carefully and keep them for later reference.

Explanation of symbols

A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g.
danger of electric shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk during
handling, operation and control.

perty caused by incorrect handling or non-observance of the safety

• The product must not be modified or converted, as not only the CE
approval will become void but also the warranty/guarantee.
• The IR illuminator’s integrated infrared LEDs allow night vision.

• The IR illuminator should not be exposed to extreme temperatures,
direct sunlight, intense vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• If the IR illuminator is used with other devices e.g. a camera, the
operating instructions and safety notices of the devices connected
must also be observed.
• The use of the surveillance camera system does not replace the per-
sonal supervision of children, or people who require special
assistance, but only serves as a support to this supervision.
• After rapid changes in temperature, the IR illuminator requires
sufficient time to stabilise, in order to adjust to the surrounding-
temperature, before it can be used.
• Electronic devices are not toys and should be kept out of the reach
of children!
• Please contact a qualified specialist, if you are unsure about the
correct use of the product or regarding the safety.
• Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic
film/bags etc. can be dangerous playthings for children, there is a
risk of suffocation.

• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer
possible, disconnect the device immediately and secure it against
inadvertent operation.
• You can assume that a safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long
period of time
or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
• In commercial institutions, the accident preventionregulations of the
Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for electrical systems
and operating materials are to be observed.
• The IR illuminator is designed for operation outdoors (IP65).
• The voltage is supplied via 12 V/DC (a suitable power supply unit is
available as an option).
• Live components may be exposed, if the covers are opened or parts
removed (unless this can be done without tools). Connection points
may also be live. If the appliance needs to be opened for calibration,
servicing, repair or to replace parts or circuit boards, it must be dis-
connected first from all sources of current . If servicing or repairs on
an open and live appliance are unavoidable, these may only be
carried out by a specialist, who is familiar with the risks involved and
is aware of the relevant regulations.
• Capacitors in the device may still be charged, even if the device has
been disconnected from all power supplies.
• When installing/mounting the appliance, make sure that the
connection cable is neither pinched nor damaged by sharp edges.
• Disconnect the IR illuminator from the power supply if the unit is not
in use for a long period of time.
• Disconnect the IR illuminator from the power supply before cleaning.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the IR illuminator from the power
supply during thunderstorms.
• Never replace damaged mains cables yourself. In such an event, dis-
connect the appliance from the mains and take it to a specialist work-
shop.
• Never pour fluids out above electrical devices. You run the risk of
causing a fire or a fatal electric shock. If liquids enter the device,
immediately disconnect it from the power supply, remove the plug
from the mains and consult an expert.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair works may only be performed by a
qualified specialist or a qualified workshop.
