Turn-on and general operation
The sets which are connected require harmonization. Turn the TV set on. Select the
scart programm site, to which the satellite receiver is connected, on the TV set. This
is mostly the program site which is designated as "AV". Also here, if you use a video
recorder to make records select the scart program site on which the satellite receiver
has been connected. The program site is also designated as "AV" in most cases.
After insertion, the satellite receiver is in the standby mode. The message "-"
appears in the display.
Turn the satellite receiver on by means of the On/Standby switch (3). The display
shows the program site called last, e.g. "1".
The satellite receiver was pre-programmed at works for the most common analog TV
satellite programs of ASTRA 1A-1D, Eutelsat, Intelsat, Telekom, and Türksat on the
program sites 1 – 500. The basic settings are agreed with the usual configurations of
a satellite system.
You may change the pre-programming made at works as described under item
"Set/change & store a new program".
However, after the receiver is turned on the most frequent case is that an image can
be seen immediately and there is no need to change the programming.
The set has been adjusted for a three-digit program site input. The programs may be
invoked via an input on the numeric keys 0 – 9 (17) on the remote control unit or via
the program selector keys (4 & 5).
If the program sites are input directly via the numeric keys of the remote control unit
the program will leap immediately to the program site typed, but will then wait for 3
seconds each until the next digit is input.
Example: To input the program site 123, press digit 1 (with the set changing to pro-
gram site 1), press digit 2 within 3 seconds (with the set changing to program site
12), then press 3 within 3 seconds with the set changing to program site 123.
Mute function (Sound on/off)
Make inaudible the sound by pressing the
MUTE key (19). Pressing the
MUTE key anew makes the sound audible again.
Turn on/off the child safety device
The child safety device allows you to purposefully restrict an access to your satellite
receiver via a secret code. You may block single programs and, additionally, an
access to the setting functions.
