Notes on operation and handling
• The DVI Splitter delivers the digital image signal that it received at the input „IN“ simulta-
neously to all ouputs („Out1“ to „Out4“).
• You do not have to use all 4 outputs, of course only 1, 2 or 3 outputs may be used with
corresponding playback devices (monitors, video projectors).
• If you wish to play videos from DVDs or blue-ray data carriers, please ensure that all con-
nected display devices (monitors, video projectors) support the same HDCP signal and
also the same resolution/picture signal as the playback device (graphics card/computer).
Otherwise, this may lead to the display device not showing any picture.
An error message may appear on the display device indicating that there is no signal
(e.g. when the graphics card has a resolution of 1650x1080 pixels, but the monitor/video
projector only supports 1280x1024).
• The DVI splitter and the mains adapter need the power supply even when no playback
or display device is in use.
Therefore, we recommend to use e.g. a multiple outlet strip with on/off switch for all
devices that are no longer required. Thus, unnecessary power consumption can be
avoided.
• With a suitable adapter, you can also use a graphics card with HDMI output or a playback
device with HDMI input (e.g. a flat-screen TV or a computermonitor with HDMI input).
Observe that no audio signal can be transmitted via DVI!
• Depending on the quality of the connection cables used and also on the devices con-
nected, a cable length of up to 30m between the DVI Splitter and the playback device is
possible.
Handling
Ꮨ
Always follow the safety instructions!
Only to be used indoors in dry rooms. The product must not get damp or wet,
danger of a fatal electric shock!
Ꮨ
Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a
warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy your unit.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before switching it on. This may take
several hours. Only then may the plug-in power supply be connected to the
mains voltage and the DVI splitter switched on.
Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor
destroyed. The housing must not be opened! Any maintenance or repair work
must only be carried out by authorised personnel.
Check the product for damage before each use!
If you detect any damage, DO NOT connect the product to the mains supply!
This presents a danger to life!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if
- the device shows visible signs of damage,
- - the device does not operate any longer and
- if the device was stored under adverse conditions for a long period of time or
- after heavy loading during transport.
If the product is not to be used for a longer period, unplug the power supply unit.
Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation
location and during transportation:
- Damp or excess air humidity
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields, such as in the proximity of machines or loudspeakers
Never pull the mains adapter from the mains socket by pulling the cable, but
remove it from the mains socket by using the gripping surface provided.
For safety reasons, always disconnect the mains adapter from the mains sock-
et during thunderstorms.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance, never take it apart. Any repair should be
carried out by a specialist workshop.
Clean the product with a soft, clean and dry cloth. Dust can be very easily removed using
a soft, clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents. These can damage the housing.
Disposal
Electric and electronic products do not belong in the household waste!
When disposing of an unserviceable product, do so in keeping with the relevant
statutory regulations.
