c) Getting started with the weather station
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the weather station.
• Insert two batteries type mignon/AA batteries observing the correct polarity into the battery
compartment (o/plus and -/minus). You will find the corresponding illustration in the
battery compartment.
Once the batteries have been inserted, all available display elements appear briefly.
• Close the battery compartment.
• The reception symbol for the DCF signal blinks on the top left of the display together with the
weather symbols of the different display sections. The bottom of the display shows
"SEARCH SIG."

You can later on change the display language from the default setting (German)
to other languages. For this purpose, see chapter 12. i).

As already mentioned in chapter 9, you have to keep a sufficient distance to
electric/electronic devices, metal parts, cables, etc.
Do not move the weather station during the first reception attempt.
It may take between 3-10 minutes until the DCF reception for the time and the
date is finished.
• If "
COUNTRY
" appears on the bottom of the display, set your home country with the buttons
"
" and "
" (e.g. "
D/GER
" for Germany) and confirm this setting by briefly pressing the
button "SET".
Now the display shows "
CITY
" (select city). With the buttons "
" and "
", you can select
a city near to your place of residence.
Briefly confirm the setting by pressing "TEST". The city is saved afterwards and a small tick
mark appears above the city name:
