b) Operation
• The instructions for the remote control system and charger are included separately. Always follow all
the safety information as well as all other information! Numerous hazards are associated with improper
handling of the battery charger.
• Never wind the aerial cable! This significantly reduces the transmission range. Take care not to damage
the antenna cable. Never cut the antenna cable!
•
Only use suitable drive rechargeable batteries for the vehicle. Never power the speed controller with a
power adapter, even for test purposes.
• This vehicle is only suitable for use with a 6-cell NiMH battery (nominal voltage 7.2 V) or a 2-cell LiPo
battery (nominal voltage 7.4 V).
When using a drive rechargeable battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire resulting from the
speed controller overheating. In addition, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and thus damaged (e.g.
differential). This will void the warranty!
Caution!
The NiMH battery charger should only be used to charge a NiMH vehicle battery. Attempting to
charge a LiPo battery with the NiMH battery charger may cause a fire or explosion!
A LiPo drive rechargeable battery should only be charged with a suitable LiPo charger (and a NiMH
rechargeable battery with a NiMH charger only). So if you want to purchase a LiPo drive rechargeable
battery for the vehicle, you will also need a suitable LiPo charger.
Always ensure that you use the correct type of battery charger.
• When putting the device into operation always turn on the transmitter first. Only then can the drive
battery of the vehicle be connected to the speed controller and the speed controller be switched on.
Otherwise, the vehicle might react unpredictably.
Proceed as follows:
- Before connecting the battery, place the vehicle on a suitable surface so that all wheels can move
freely.
- Switch off the speed controller.
- Switch on the remote control. Check that it functions correctly (e.g. transmitter's operating display).
- On the remote control, set the trim for the throttle/brake function to the central position.
- Connect a fully-charged vehicle battery to the speed controller in the correct polarity.
-
Turn on the speed controller. Wait for a few seconds until the speed controller has completed a self-
test.
-
Check that the vehicle reacts to the remote control commands as expected (steering and throttle)
before removing it from the support and placing the wheels on the ground.
