6 Product maintenance/Reprocessing
Do not sterilise or immerse in any liquid!
The device is not suitable for sterilisation.
Clean the surface of the device with a disinfectant suitable for plastic
before each examination.
Please clean the rubber on the inside of the pulse oximeter as well
as the patient's finger with medical-quality alcohol before use.
The rubber used is medically safe, contains no toxic substances
and is skin-friendly.
Make sure that no moisture enters into the device through any openings.
Let the pulse oximeter dry completely before using again.

5.4 Measuring principle
The measuring principle of the oximeter is based on the application of the
Lambert-Beer law, taking into account the absorption spectrum of reduced
haemoglobin (HbR) and oxygenated haemoglobin in the visible and infrared
ranges.
During measurement different wavelengths of light (660 nm visible light and
940 nm near-infrared light) are passed through the patient's fingertip via
a perspective sensor.
The signal is measured by a light-sensitive sensor. The information acquired in
this way is processed electronically and shown on the display.
