WIDEsystem scanner detection
Connect USB cable to PC
Connect the USB interface cable to the PC
1. On the scanner PC check that WIDEsystem is running by looking for the WIDEsystem
icon in the system tray area of the PC screen (lower right).
2. If WIDEsystem is not running, locate the WIDEsystem entry under Windows, Programs
and start it manually.
3. Make sure the USB cable is connected to the scanner as instructed in the previous step.
4. Connect the flat (A-connector) end of the USB cable to a USB3 socket on the PC.
NOTE
: USB3 sockets on the
back
of PCs are often faster than ones on the front.

Scanner installation
The Installation Wizard starts up
1. The computer will detect the scanner and start the scanner installation wizard.
2. If the installation wizard does not start perform one or more of the following:
Unplug and reinsert the USB connections to scanner and PC.
Ensure the USB cable is properly connected.
Try a different USB port on the PC.
Make sure the USB is inserted into the port marked for USB at the back of the scanner
(and not, for example, the Ethernet port).
