Scanner result problems
Problem
Possible causes and remedy
Scanned image is incomplete
•
Check the scanning software size settings are set to auto detection or the size of the original
•
Check the scanning software paper justification matches the position being used to load the original on the paper feed
tray
Image sections misaligned at sensor
overlap (stitching)

Remove the original from the scanner and re-calibrate the scanner using the scanner maintenance program
•
If the problem persists after calibration the scanner sensors may need adjustment. Request assistance from your
technical service provider
Thin vertical lines showing in the
paper direction of image not seen in
the original

Clean the scanner glass and rollers as described in this guide
•
Wipe dirty documents with a dry lint-free cloth before feeding them into the scanner
•
If the problem remains re-calibrate the scanner using the scanner maintenance program. The scanner will
‘memorize’
dirt specs so you will need to re-calibrate the scanner after cleaning the scanner glass
•
If the problem persists after cleaning and calibration check the glass plate for scratches as a damaged glass plate
should be replaced. Obtain a new glass plate from your service provider. Follow the steps in this guide to replace the
glass plate
