7-3.4. 100-Hour (Annual) Engine Inspection
Frequency
The 100-Hour Inspection is done under two circumstances:
•
After each 100 hours of accumulated engine operation.
•
Annually, if the engine did not accumulate 100 hours of operation during the calendar
year since the last 100-hour inspection.
WARNING
When performing this inspection, turn the Ignition Switch
OFF and disconnect engine power. Do not stand or place
equipment within the arc of the propeller.
Procedure
WARNING
Correct all fuel or oil leaks. Flammable petroleum products
may ignite if exposed to an ignition source.
1.
Perform a “Visual Inspection” according to the instructions in Section 7-3.7; correct
any discrepancies.
NOTE: For the 100-Hour Inspection, perform the Engine
Operational Check with the FADEC System. DO NOT use the
Engine Operational Check with Calibrated Gauges Setup. The
Level I Diagnostics checks the reliability of the FADEC sensor set
and Electronic Control Units.
2.
Perform an “Engine Operational Check” according to instructions in Chapter 6.
3.
Submit an oil sample for analysis according to the instructions in “Oil Sample
Collection” and “Spectrographic Oil Analysis” in Chapter 9, “Maintenance and
Adjustments.”
4.
Perform a complete “Cylinder Inspections” according to the instructions in section 7-
3.8. The cylinder inspection consists of multiple inspections and checks including
Cylinder Power Stroke Area, Differential Pressure, Borescope, Baffle, and Cylinder
Mounting Deck Inspections.
5.
Perform the “Crankcase Inspection” in Section 7-3.9.
6.
Perform an “Engine Mount Inspection” in Section 7-3.10.
7.
Perform an “Induction System Inspection” in Section 7-3.11.
8.
Perform an “Ignition System Inspection” in Section 7-3.12.
9.
Perform a “FADEC Dedicated Backup Battery Inspection” in Section 7-3.13.
10.
Perform a “Fuel System Inspection” in Section 7-3.14.
11.
Perform an “Engine Gauge Inspection” in Section 7-3.15.
12.
Perform an “Engine Control Linkage Inspection” in Section 7-3.16.
