6. Troubleshooting
ATTENTION!
Observe the following rules when troubleshooting to avoid serious injury:
- Turn off the air. Lock out and tag out the air supply.
- If air is needed to check the controls, always get help from another person to:
- Hold the nozzle securely.
- Operate the foot pedal.
- Never bypass the foot pedal or wedge it in the operating position.
- Never override the door interlock system.
6.1 Poor Visibility
6.1.1
Poor visibility could be due to a dirty filter cartridge. The dust container should be
emptied on a regular basis. Examine and replace the cartridge if required. It is imperative that
the dust collector filter be regularly cleaned (see section 4.2.4).
6.1.2
If the motor is rotating backwards, poor visibility could result. The motor should
rotate as shown by the arrow on its housing. If it is not rotating in the right direction, lockout
and tag-out the power supply and exchange the motor leads as indicated on the motor plate.
6.1.3
Poor visibility can occur due to use of soft media, which breaks down too quickly,
or use of media which is too fine or worn out.
6.1.4
If the outlet throttle valve is closed too far, it can restrict air flow in the cabinet
causing poor visibility. Regulate the static pressure according to Section 4.3.4..
6.2.
Abnormally High Media Consumption
6.2.1
Inspect the outlet damper to determine if it is open too far. Adjust static pressure
according to Section 4.3.4.
6.2.2
Usage of soft media that breaks down quickly or using media that is too fine or
worn out can cause abnormally high media consumption.
6.2.3
The nozzle pressure is adjusted too high for the media, which results in media
breakdown.
