ASMDR Reports
Call Buffer Management in DX for Hotel Version
a) SBDX has a 2700 outgoing call buffer & 500 incoming call buffer.
b) SBDX will keep all types of outgoing calls stored in its buffer. Once an outgoing call is
terminated, call will be stored in the system buffer.
c) SBDX will keep all the incoming calls (answered & unanswered) also in incoming call
buffer.
d) All the calls will be logged into call terminator’s account. With Hotel version, there is no
call sharing of long distance calls.
e) If a room is checked out, all the calls made by last to last room guest, will be deleted from
the system call buffer.
For
example,
if a guest named Mr. ABC was checking out from a room, that at the time
of this check out, calls made by Mr. ABC will not be deleted. Whenever this room 205 will
be allotted to any other guest named Mr. XYZ & when Mr. XYZ is being checked-out that
time calls made by Mr. ABC will be deleted.
Means if a room is checked-out twice in a day, all the calls made by first guest will be
deleted.
f) If call buffer is full, oldest call will be deleted to save the new call. Means FIFO system is
used to maintain the call buffer.
g) To interface with a client application for call details, SBDX requires a Handshaking packet
from the client application to establish the handshaking. `%H$’ is the Handshaking
packet.
h) SBDX requires the acknowledgement of every call individually. Means on sending of a
call packet, SBDX will not send the next call packet until it receives the Call ACK packet
for the last call from the client application.
i) On receiving the Call ACK packet for a call, SBDX will mark that call as `Acknowledged
call’ in its buffer.
j) Acknowledged calls also will be deleted from the system buffer immediately. Calls will be
deleted only as per the FIFO system. & if as per the FIFO system, a call is supposed to
be deleted than that call will be deleted either it is acknowledged or unacknowledged call.
k) If SBDX does not receive the ACK packet for a call, SBDX will stop the sending of the
calls & it will keep on storing the calls in its buffer. In such a case, SBDX will keep this
call stored as `Sent but unacknowledged’. Such type of calls will be transmitted again on
receiving the CALL NACK Packet from the Client application.
As soon as a outgoing call is finished, the details of that outgoing call gets recorded in the
system call buffer. As explained earlier, SBDX hosts a Cost Table & Code Table also to
calculate the cost of the calls. (Refer the chapter `Cost Table & Code Table). There is a
printer port with the SBDX CPU. Through this printer port, all the calls details can be printed
in a predefined format.
