Connecting the RTU to the Ethernet
If the RTU is going to communicate to the host over a LAN, you must connect the
RTU to the LAN.
1.
Connect one end of a 4-pair, 24 AWG category 5 (CAT 5) network cable to
the router and the other end to the ETHERNET connector on the Main
Module RTU backplane.
CAT 5 network cables must follow this wiring diagram:

Verify connectivity to the RTU over the LAN.
There are various ways to verify connectivity. You can
ping
the RTU, connect to the RTU
using the Manager Lite utility, or access InSite and verify that the opening display appears in
a browser window.
