8. The procedure has now been completed correctly.
Click on ENTER and exit the Service program.
In case of firmware programming problems, carry out the programming operation
“cold” (e.g.: it is not possible to upgrade the firmware).
NB:
The programming procedure outlined above lets you update the head firmware
only. To update bootloader version, you will need to perform the “cold” programming
procedure described at the next paragraph.
“COLD” head programming
(firmware and bootloader programming)
• Disconnect the PC power supply cable from the electrical connector panel (G, Fig. 2).
• Remove the measuring head covers by loosening the rear fixing screws.
• Remove the batteries from the measuring heads.
• Set selector 4 of switch PRG to ON; it is found on every measuring head card.
• Connect the cables to the exposed measuring sensors and to the electrical connector
panel (B, Fig. 1).
• Select the SOFTWARE option in the Service program.
• Press the EMERGENCY FW. DOWNLOAD (Head cover open) button.
• Connect the PC power supply cable to the electrical panel as displayed and press OK
• The upgrade will start.
• Wait for completion of the procedure.
• When the procedure has been completed successfully, switch off the measuring he-
ads, disconnect the batteries and the connection cable for the central unit, and set the
selectors 4 of switches PRG back to OFF again.
• Refit the measuring sensor covers.
• The procedure is completed and the new firmware/bootloader has been correctly in-
stalled on the measuring sensors.
RADIO
Central unit radio board
The central unit establishes radio communication with the four measuring sensors via
the radio board included in the Hard Lock at 2.4 GHz frequency.
The Hard Lock is mounted on the back of the central unit cabinet.
Radio unit installation instructions
To assure the most efficient radio communications between the measuring sensors and
the central unit, proceed as follows.
Hard Lock: Installation
The radio unit must be placed in a position where it will be easier for the measuring
sensors to pick up its signals (with fewest metal objects in-between) and well away
from any metal objects that might block electromagnetic waves. Two mounting posi-
tions are provided on the back of the cabinet (fig. 4).
Controlling the 2.4 GHz radio unit
Click on “Radio”.
