6 MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS
We recommend taking the bicycle to the dealer for a service
a month after its purchase and once a year. You will enjoy
your bicycle for longer if you keep it properly clean in the
meantime. You should never use a high pressure spray or
garden house to clean the bicycle.
Service interval alert
After 500 km a key will be displayed (13) to remind you about
the maintenance service. Your dealer can set the following
alerts in consultation with you.
Battery
The battery will wear out and hold less power over the
course of time. You will then be able to cycle noticeably less
far with pedal assist. The battery condition can be displayed
by holding in the battery button for 10 seconds (14).
The battery is due to be replaced if only the light farthest to
the left fl ickers.
On rare occasions the battery may become defective. In that
case one of the lights will start fl ashing. The possible causes
of the defect are given in the table. You should contact your
dealer if this happens.
Not using the battery? In that case you should half-charge it
once every three months.
Replacing the front tyre
The bicycle motor is incorporated in the front wheel. If the
front tyre needs to be replaced, we recommend having this
done by your dealer.
Dismantling, scrapping, disposal
You will be able to trade in the battery with your dealer
at the end of its life cycle. He will ensure that it enters the
Cortina recycling programme.
