Chapter 6
OPERATOR MAINTENANCE
6.1 Introduction
This chapter describes the procedures for Preventive Maintenance
tasks that can be performed by operators.
NOTE:
There are additional Preventive Maintenance tasks that require
that the service technician has attended a formal training program for
service of the amplifier. (See Table 6-2.) Refer to the Service Manual for
this product for a discussion of these tasks.
It is recommended that a daily log should be kept of all the
AMPLIFIER meter readings. This can be helpful in identifying
trends and potential problems. The daily log is a good source for
clues that could indicate an intermittent or marginal condition.
Any increase in reflected power or unexplained fault conditions
could point to a deteriorating condition.
6.2 Preventive Maintenance Tasks
To function safely and effectively, the AMPLIFIER requires
periodic maintenance. This consists of inspection, cleaning, testing,
and calibration of the AMPLIFIER's subsystems at designated
intervals. Refer to Table 6-1 for the Preventive Maintenance tasks
to be performed by operators. Table 6-2 outlines preventive
maintenance tasks to be performed by a service technician.
