Effect of Cutter Height – Cutter Too Low
Should the cutter be too low, the following will occur:
The front corner of the material will hit the centre island of the cutter cover after
polishing. This will leave a mark in the finish. (1) in Diagram 17 below.

As the piece continues, the mark will hit the island leaving an echo of the original.

This will continue along the workpiece. In extreme circumstances, the downward
pressure of the transport system will push the material onto the outfeed track,
pivoting the material on the corner of the island and lifting the rear of the material off
the infeed track. This will result in a tapered cut, or even the back not being polished
at all.
