ASSEMBLY
IMPORTANT
: This unit is shipped without gasoline or oil in the engine.
Be certain to service engine with gasoline and oil as instructed in the
Operation section of this manual before operating your machine.
NOTE
: Reference to right and left hand side of the Tiller is observed
from the operating position.
OPENING CARTON
1. Cut each corner of the carton vertically from top to bottom.
2. Remove all loose parts.
3. Remove loose packing material.
REMOVING UNIT FROM CARTON
1. Use the handlebar to lift and pull the tiller backwards to a flat
area. Check the carton thoroughly for loose parts.
2. Be sure not to kink the forward clutch cable.

ATTACHING THE HANDLE ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the handle crank, bolt, washer, retainer bracket and the
flange lock nuts from the lower handle. See Figure 1.

2. Position the upper handle onto the lower handle, Step A in Figure
2. Align the holes on the lower handle with the holes on the
upper handle. Choose the upper or lower holes depending on the
desired handle height.
3. Insert carriage bolts through the holes and secure with the star
knobs, Step B in Fig.3-2. Make certain the carriage bolts are
seated securely into one of the two positions provided.
4. Insert the left end of the tine clutch control into the hole on the left
side of the upper handle. See Figure 3.
