Setting Up User Accounts
The CEN-NVS100 provides three user access levels that determine user privileges:
•
Administrator:
Allows full access to the CEN-NVS100.
•
Operator:
Allows partial access to the CEN-NVS100. Enables the user to
perform all functions except the configuration of system, network, and
security settings.
•
Viewer:
Allows the most limited access to the CEN-NVS100. Enables the
user to view, listen, and talk to the camera and to control digital
input/output and PTZ camera functions.
Set up user accounts in the
Add User
pane of the “Security” configuration page.
Up to 20 user accounts can be set.
“Security” Configuration Page – Add User
1. In
the
Add User
pane, do the following:
NOTE:
The user name and password are case sensitive.
NOTE:
Setting a user password is optional; however, doing so prevents
unauthorized use of the CEN-NVS100 by providing password protection.
a. In
the
User Name:
text box, enter a user name.
b. In
the
User Password
: text box, enter a password for the user.
c. Set the user type by clicking the appropriate radio button:
Operator
or
Viewe
r
.
(The
Administrator
user type is used for
the Administrator only whose root user name is
root
.)
2. Click
Add.
The user account is set.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each account to be added.
