Rack Mounting
If the CEN-UPS1250 unit is to be rack mounted, please follow these four basic
steps:
WARNING:
To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a
rack, observe the following guidelines:
•
When mounting this unit in a partially filled rack, load the rack from the
bottom to the top with the heaviest component at the bottom of the rack.
•
If the rack is provided with stabilizing devices, install the stabilizers before
mounting or servicing the unit in the rack.
NOTE:
The rack mounting hardware that is shipped with the unit is designed for 19
inch wide racks only.
NOTE:
Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained.
Particular attention should be given to supply connections other than direct
connections to the branch circuit (e.g. use of power strips).
1. Install the rack mount rails (refer to illustrations on the following page).
2. Install the rail cleats.
3. Install the rack mount ears (optional).
CAUTION:
Rack mount ears should
not
be used alone to support the unit. Rack
mount rails should always be used to support the unit’s weight when it is mounted in
a rack.
NOTE:
Rack mount ears are required only to lock the unit to the front of the rack to
prevent front to rear movement.
4. Slide the unit into the rack so that the cleats mounted on the side of the unit
fit within the track of the rack mount rails. If the ears were mounted, screw
the mounted ears into the rack to lock the unit into position.
NOTE:
Avoid placing other components directly on top of or behind the unit. Leave
at least one inch of space on all sides to allow for proper air ventilation. Do not block
the vents or fan.
