Cable inspection and lubrication
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Damaged control cables.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Corrosion can result when the outer
covering of control cables becomes
damaged. Cables can also become
frayed or kinked. Operation of controls
could be restricted, which could cause
an accident or injury.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Inspect cables frequently. Replace
damaged cables.
Lubricate the inner cables and the cable
ends. If the cables do not operate
smoothly, ask your dealer to replace
them.
Recommended lubricant:
SAE 10W30 motor oil
Lubricating the brake lever and
brake pedal and parking lever
Lubricate the pivoting parts.
Recommended lubricant :
Lithium-soap-based grease
(all-purpose grease)
