RUDDER REPLACEMENT
With the yacht out of the water, use the
following procedure to replace a rudder:
1. Mark shaft for vertical position.
2. Have a second person outside the yacht
remove the rudder as the hardware is
loosened.
3. Transfer marks for vertical position to
new rudder shaft.
4. Loosen the hardware to remove rudder
arm from the rudder shaft. Lower the
rudder from the yacht.
5. Insert red collar to protect O-ring.
6. Install a new rudder and hold it in place
while collar is installed. To ease
installation, spray shaft with lubricant.
7. Install rudder arm. Adjust vertical
position of rudder with markings you
made on shaft.
8. Tighten rudder arm hardware.
9. Inspect and lubricate tie rod ends.
10. Adjust tie rod length to align both
rudders.
CAUTION
Cruisers Yachts will not warrant
damage incurred due to improperly
adjusted or neglected rudder
components. Excessive water entry
could result in the submergence of
the engine compartment.
DC Electrical System
CHARGE BATTERIES
The standard batteries furnished by Cruisers
Yachts are “MAINTENANCE FREE”. Follow
the battery manufacturer’s
recommendations for proper maintenance.
The batteries will be charged when the
engines are running by the engine
alternators. All batteries can be charged
from dockside power or from generator
power. When the dockside power is
connected or the generator is running, the
batteries can be charged by moving the
BATTERY CHARGER and the BOW
THRUSTER BAT CHARGER circuit
breakers to the ON position.
Fresh Water System
CLEAN THE WATER TANK
Fill the fresh water tank using a plastic hose.
Rubber hoses can add an objectionable
taste to the water.
To clean your new fresh water system, or the
system after a long period of storage, use
the following procedure:
1. Make a solution of 2-1/2 cups (20 oz.) of
household bleach and 10 gallons of
water (0.6 L to 38 L).
