RED
- If the red LED is blinking ON and
OFF, either:
1. The dockside power is disconnected, or
2. There is a large amount of current in the
grounding system. Refer this issue to a
qualified electrician.
A Word About Bonding
Cruisers Yachts mounts a copper bonding
strip in the engine compartment, which is
connected via the shore power cable to
earth ground. All metal parts of your yacht,
the radar arch, the rudder shaft or drive
system, and the bowrails are bonded to this
common ground. The terminal strip located
behind the dash panel is linked to the
landing strip via a single #6 green wire. The
AC and DC ground wires also are connected
to the bonding strip.
Bonding provides a common ground for all
electrical systems on the yacht.
FRESH WATER SYSTEM
Fresh Water Tank
The yacht is fitted with two fresh water
tanks. The tanks are vented through the hull,
this allows air to enter/escape as water
levels rise and fall.
IMPORTANT
Fill the tank only with potable water.
Using and refilling the tank often will
help keep it a source of clean
drinking water.
FILTER AND PUMP
Water is drawn from the tanks by a self-
priming pump located on the starboard side
of the water tank room. Before entering the
pump, the water passes through a filter to
capture any contaminants. The pump
provides a flow of water at a preset pressure
to the remainder of the system.
INITIAL STARTUP
1. Fill the fresh water tank approximately
halfway of potable water.
2. Turn the FRESHWATER PUMP breaker
ON.
3. Open the cold water galley faucet to
allow air to escape. Close the faucet
when a steady flow of water is apparent.
4. Open the hot water galley faucet to fill
the water heater and allow air to escape
from the line. Close the faucet when a
steady flow of water is apparent.
5. Bleed air from the remainder of the
faucets in the same manner as Steps 3
and 4. After all lines have been bled, the
pump will build to operating pressure
and then shut off.
6. Fill the tanks to their capacity.
City Water Hookup
CAUTION
Monitor the water system during
initial usage of the “city water”
feature. In this mode, the yacht is
connected to an unlimited source of
water. DO NOT leave yacht
unattended while using the “city
water” feature. Any major leak or
break in the system will allow
abnormal bilge accumulation which
in turn could cause sinking or
swamping of batteries and engine.
Damage from swamping and/or
submergence are not covered by
warranty.
As an alternative to your fresh water tank,
the fresh water system can be connected to
“city water” at the receptacle in the port stern
compartment. Because the water enters the
yacht under pressure, it bypasses the tank,
the filter and the pump.
NOTE
Using “city water” hookup does not
replenish water supply in the tank.
The tank can only be filled at the
fresh water fill plate.
When using a dockside hookup, you will
have to bleed all the lines as you did in initial
start-up for the fresh water tank system.
