5.7.1.1
Communicating via Ethernet on LAN
The port marked ETH. 2 is used to establish communication to an enterprise network
or to a laptop/PC running Osprey. The user has the ability to manually configure the
IP address of this port or to allow the address to be issued by a remote DHCP server.
This setting is provided by selecting Ethernet in
Preferences
(see Figure 24).
Only the IP address of ETH 2 can be configured
5.7.1.2
Communicating via Ethernet through a Router
Connect the Impedo Duo to the router through Ethernet Port 2. Configure the
Impedo Duo to have a fixed IP in the same IP range as the router. Ensure that the
gateway address of the Impedo Duo is set as the router’s local IP address. Example:
Router:
IP: 192.168.254.1 Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Impedo Duo:
IP: 192.168.254.2 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.254.1
On the router, port forwarding needs to be set up to forward ports 27030 - 27045 to
the Impedo Duo’s address.
