BEFORE USING

When using any electrical appliance, especially

basic safety 

precautions should always be taken to reduce

 •  This appliance is intended for

Always unplug from outlet when not in use 
and before cleaning. Allow to cool before 
cleaning or handling.

 •  Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or 

lever.

 •  To protect against electric shock, do not 

immerse cord or plug or place any part of the 
toaster in water or other liquids. (Refer to 
Cleaning and Maintenance on page 6).

 •  This appliance is not intended for use by 

persons (including children) with reduced 
physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or 
lack experience and knowledge unless, they 
have been given instruction concerning use 
of the appliance by a person responsible for 
their safety.

 •  To ensure no possible accidental injury 

occurs, when infirmed persons (including 
children) are near the appliance, they must be 
closely supervised.

 •  Children should be supervised to ensure that 

they do not play with the appliance.

 •   Do not operate any appliance with a 

damaged cord or plug, after the appliance 
has malfunctioned or has been dropped, 
dropped in water or damaged in any way, or 
if it is not operating properly. Return the 
toaster to the store or retailer where 
purchased for examination, repair or 
adjustment.

 •  The use of attachments not recommended by 

Cuisinart may be hazardous.

 • Do not use outdoors.
 •  To avoid the possibility of the unit being 

accidentally pulled off the working area, which 

could result in damage to the unit or personal 

injury, do not let the cord hang over the edge of 
a table or benchtop.

 •  Do not place toaster on or near a hot gas or 

electric burner or in a heated oven.

 •  To avoid damage to the cord and possible 

fire or electrocution hazard, do not let cord 
come into contact with any hot surfaces 
including a stovetop.

 •  Do not use this toaster for anything other 

than its intended use.

 •  

CAUTION:

 Oversized foods, metal foil 

packages or utensils must not be inserted in the 

toaster, as they may involve a risk of fire or 
electric shock.

 •  Use only on an appropriate benchtop and 

indoors only, sitting away from flammable 

materials such as curtains, draperies and walls 

of similar nature as a fire may occur if comes in 
contact or becomes covered during operation.

 •  Do not attempt to dislodge food when the 

toaster is plugged into an electrical outlet.

 •  To avoid possibility of fire, do not leave 

toaster unattended during use.

 •  Misuse may potentially cause injury or 

physical damage to the user.

 •  To disconnect, push the activation lever 

towards CANCEL, then remove plug from 
wall. Unplug from outlet when not in use and 
before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting 
on or taking off parts. (Refer to Cleaning and 
Maintenance on page 7).

 •  Do not operate this appliance in an appliance 

cabinet or under a wall cabinet. When storing in 

an appliance cabinet, always unplug the unit 

from the electrical outlet. Not doing so could 

create a risk of fire, especially if the unit is in 

contact with the walls of any cabinetry or on 

closing the cabinet door and touching the unit.

 •  If the supply cord is damaged, it must be 

replaced by the manufacturer or authorized 
service representative.

 •  Do not clean with metal scouring pads. 

Pieces can break off the pad and touch 
electrical parts, involving a risk of electric 
shock.

 •  The temperature of accessible surfaces may 

be high when the appliance is operating.
