Owner’s Guide
TCT Operation
With the switch in TOW position:
•
the controller is deactivated
•
the electronic braking system is deactivated which allows the
vehicle move freely
•
the warning beeper is deactivated
With the switch in RUN position:
•
the controller is activated
•
the electronic braking system and warning beeper features are
activated
A TCT vehicle operates in the RUN position only.
With the switch in RUN position and all of the following occurrences:
•
the vehicle is stopped for more than one second
•
the accelerator pedal is released for more than one second
•
the vehicle starts to roll more than 2 mph (3 kph)
the pedal-up brake system limits the speed to approximately 2 mph (3
kph) and the warning beeper activates. When the accelerator pedal is
pressed, the pedal-up brake and warning beeper stops and normal oper-
ation continues. The system functions in all key switch positions.
The TCT system is not a alternative for the brake. Use the brake pedal to control speed and
decrease the risk of injury.
With the switch in RUN position and all of the following occurrences:
•
the vehicle being driven down a slope
•
the vehicle speed is more than the specified top speed with the accelerator pedal pressed
or
released
the pedal-up brake limits the speed of the vehicle to the specified top speed. When the regenerative braking feature is
activated by this sequence of occurrences, the motor generates power which is returned to the batteries.
Test the TCT system each month. Allow the vehicle to move downhill with the accelerator pedal released. The braking
force must be felt at approximately 2 mph (3 kph) indicating that the TCT system is in operation. If the speed continues to
increase, apply the brake to control speed and continue with diagnostic check.
When you charge the vehicle, the diagnostic mode is deactivated and the handheld diagnostic tool does not operate.
The run/tow switch is found below the passenger side of the seat on the ESC environmental cover.
