TRUCOURSE TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM™ (TCT)
Performance Options
TruCourse Technology (TCT) system vehicles are operated in one of four performance options. All options have standard
features that control, protect and diagnose the vehicle. The options are described as follows:
•
Option 1 -
Flat
The motor speed is sensed and limited to top speed of 14.8 mph (23.8 kph) by the controller. As the vehicle
reaches the top of a hill and starts to move down the hill, the speed is limited to a top speed of 14.8 mph (23.8
kph).
•
Option 2 -
Steep Hill
This option includes all of the features of the Flat option plus pedal-up braking. Pedal-up braking occurs when
the accelerator pedal is released on a moving vehicle. The motor will decrease the speed of the vehicle until the
accelerator pedal is pressed again or the vehicle comes to a stop. This option is the stronger of the two hill per-
formance options (2 and 3).
This is the 12.8 mph (20.6 kph) option.
•
Option 3 -
Mild Hill
This option is the same as the Steep Hill option, except that the pedal-up braking affect is not as strong.
This is the 13.8 mph (22.2 kph) option.
•
Option 4 -
Freedom
This option is the same as the Flat option, except that the flat ground and downhill top speeds are limited to 18.5
mph (29.7 kph) instead of 14.8 mph (23.8 kph).
Put the vehicle in diagnostic mode to determine the current vehicle performance option. The number of beeps heard
immediately after you enter diagnostic mode agrees with the option for each option numbers.
How to Change Performance Options
You can change the performance option as needed
to best suit the terrain you are driving on.
1. Lift the seat and make sure that the run/tow
switch is in the RUN position.
2. Make sure that the charger is disconnected from
the vehicle.
3. Find the vehicle diagnostic port and remove the
environmental cover.
4. Connect the handheld diagnostic tool and select
the correct performance setting.
5. Disconnect the handheld diagnostic tool, replace the environmental cover and seat.
