NOTICE
The pressure safety equipment indicated in blue in the diagram
above is not provided as part of the Chromaflow Packing Station
delivery. The diagram indicates the recommended placement of
suitable pressure safety equipment when connecting a column to a
system to perform chromatography applications, or to perform
sanitization-in-place. It is the responsibility of the user to install
suitable pressure safety equipment to protect the column from
exposure to overpressure or vacuum.

Action
1
Install pressure safety valves (
PSV) on the MPT and MPB ports. The valves
should have the same inner diameter as the column inlet/outlet.

Connect a pressure gauge (
P, recommended range 0 to 6 bar) to MPT after
the pressure safety valve in the flow path leading from the column.

In the flow path leading from the column perform the following actions:
•
Install a shut-off valve (
SOV) after the pressure gauge (P) on MPT.
•
Install a shut-off valve (
SOV) after the pressure safety valve (PSV) on
MPB.
4
Connect tubing from the
MPB and MPT shut-off valves to drain.

If the column will be run using upflow, perform the following actions.
