The layer 2 forwarding database commands in the Command Line Interface (CLI) are listed (along with the appropriate parameters) 
in the following table.

Each command is listed, in detail, in the following sections. 

create fdb 

Purpose 

Used to create a static entry to the unicast MAC address forwarding table 
(database). 

Syntax 

create fdb <vlan_name 32> <macaddr> port <port> 

Description 

This command will make an entry into the Switch’s unicast MAC address 
forwarding database. 

Parameters 

<vlan_name 32> 

 The name of the VLAN on which the MAC address 

resides. 

<macaddr>

 

 The MAC address that will be added to the forwarding table. 

port <port>

 

 The port number corresponding to the MAC destination 

address. The Switch will always forward traffic to the specified device 
through this port. 

Restrictions 

Only Administrator and Operator-level users can issue this command.
