14.3 Connecting the ATSB to the DL/PDL
There are 2 options how the ATSB is connected to the DL/PDL:
Option 1: direct connection to the DL/PDL
Option 2: LAN/Switch connection (also required if 2 ATSB are connected to one DL/PDL
Option 1:
The ATSB is connected directly to the DL/PDL on the Ethernet port at the front for
permanent operation. This option is selected if:
No LAN is available
Only one ATSB is installed (otherwise a LAN/switch is mandatory)
Front view:
The stored default address in the ATSB allows the communication with the DL/PDL.
1. Connect the ATSB with an Ethernet cable to the DL/PDL at the correct port.
2. Choose the correct ATSB version, see 14.6 and set the values as described.
3. Save
the communication works
Option 2
: The ATSB is connected first directly to the DL/PDL on the Ethernet port at the front
for initial communication. After initial configuration of the ATSB, a new fix IP address can be set
acc. the rules of the operator. With this IP address the ATSB can work in the LAN of the
operator.
This option is selected, if there are several ATSB locally required or LAN
connection is preferred.
Change of ATSB – IP address:
1. Connect the ATSB with an Ethernet cable to the DL/PDL at the correct port.
2. Choose the correct ATSB version, see 14.6 and set the values as described.
3. Open the ATSB configuration mask and change the IP information as required (IP address,
netmask) and click “Save”
automatically the ATSB goes in the shutdown routine, wait 90
seconds.
4. Disconnect the ATSB from the DL/PDL, place it at its final position and connect it to the
switch and power it on.
5. Check proper communication
