GENERAL INFORMATION
(1) In operation, the battery should be secured correctly and firmly in the motorcycle.
(2) Charge battery fully as soon as it becomes discharged.
(3) Keep exhaust tube unclogged.
(4) To keep electrolyte from freezing in the cold, keep the battery relatively warm and
charged.
(5) Disconnect the ground terminal if installed battery is to be left standing for a long time.
(6) The battery should not be in contact with petroleum or vinyl chloride.
HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR BATTERY
With minimal care, you can save money and have your battery ready when you are.
Just follow these simple rules.
(1) Keep battery clean & filled.
(2) Use only distilled water.
(3) Keep terminals clean and coated with petroleum grease.
(4) Keep terminal connections tight.
(5) Charge battery regularly in riding season.
STORING YOUR BATTERY
(1) Remove battery and bring it inside where warm.
(2) Coat terminals with grease.
(3) Maintain water level.
(4) Check charge level regularly.
(5) Maintain high charge during storage by reacharging.
Remember, charging can reduce water level in cells, so check level from time to time.
POISON/DANGER CAUSES SEVERE BURNS
Contains sulfuric acid. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Antidote: EXTERNAL-
Flush with water. INTERNAL-Drink large quantities water or milk. Follow with milk of
magnesia, beaten egg or veg oil. Call physician immediately Eyes: Flush with water for 15
minutes and get prompt medical attention.
DANGER
Batteries produce explosive gases. Keep sparks, flame, cigarettes away. Ventilate when
charging or using in enclosed space. Always shield eyes when working near batteries.
