Operation of Key Switch

LOCK
: Insert or pull out the key in
this position.

ACC
: Power is supplied to the audio
system, digital clock, and other
devices when the key is in this
position.

ON
: Power is supplied to all
electronic devices in the vehicle
when the key is in this position.
•

START
: Turn the key to this position
when starting the engine, and let it
go when the engine srarts so that it
automatically returns to the
“
ON
”
position.

START-UP & DRIVING
CAUTION
Holding the key in the starting
position (START) for longer than 10
seconds due to a delay in starting
of the engine, may result in a
excess current which causes
damages to the motor. Therefore,
when a delay in starting of the
engine occurs, turn the key to its
original position and restart the
engine after waiting for about a
minute. If the engine fails to start
within 2~3 times, inspect your
vehicle.
Leaving the battery main switch on
for a long period without starting
the engine, may cause a
discharged battery. Do not leave
the battery main switch on for a
long period when the engine is not
running.
WARNING
Turning the key to the
“
LOCK
”
position or pulling out the key
during vehicle operation may result
in an unexpected accident. Never
turn the key to the
“
LOCK
”
position
or pull out the key while the vehicle
is in operation.
Start the engine after checking if
inspection indications for Engine,
ABS/ASR, intarder brake and
eletrical devices are turned off. The
devices may malfunction if you start
the engine while devices are being
inspected.
