Check and adjust the amount of back-
lash between gears using a feeler
gauge.
3.3.12. Timing gear case cover
•
Install dowel pin on the timing gear case.
•
Mount a gasket by aligning the fixing
bolt holes with those on the gasket.
•
Align the dowel pin with the cover pin
hole, then install the cover with light tap.
•
Tighten the fixing bolts beginning with
the oil pan fitting face.
3.3.13. Front oil seal
•
Apply lubricating oil to the outside of the
oil seal and timing gear case inside
diameter and fit them over the crank-
shaft, then assemble the oil seal using
an oil seal fitting jig.
3.3.14. Cylinder liner
•
Stand the cylinder block so that the fly-
wheel faces downward.
•
Thoroughly clean the liner flange fitting
surface and bore inside with com-
pressed air to prevent the entry of for-
eign substances.
•
After the cleaning operation, make the
cylinder liner dried up and push it into
the cylinder block by hand.
•
Wet the liner inside diameter with engine
oil.
