GigE Vision has been using Gigabit Ethernet as the transmission interface since its release in 2006. With
the increase of sensor resolution and frame rate, the transmission link speed of Gigabit Ethernet has
gradually limited the GigE Vision camera. The transmission of MARS-GT camera is based on 10NBASE-
T technology, the maximum transmission link speed can up to 10Gbit/s, and supports link speed switching
to 1Gbit/s, which greatly improves the transmission link speed of network cameras and expands the
application field of cameras.
Due to the greatly improved transmission link speed, the power consumption of the 10GigE camera is
significantly increased compared with the GigE camera. The MARS-GT camera uses a unique heat
removal technology (passive heat removal technology), which maximizes the transmission capacity of the
camera in a limited volume, and makes the camera highly reliable and environmentally adaptable.
Currently, PCs generally do not support 10GigE transmission interfaces, so users need to purchase
10GigE network cards separately. The recommended models are IOIDGEAP2X-PCI8XG302 and IOI
GE10-PCIE4XG301. The network card generally requires the PCIE slot of the PC to be x4 gen3, dual port
network card requires a PCIE slot of x8, in order to achieve better acquisition results, the following settings
are recommended:
1)
Support Jumbo Packet, the length of Jumbo Packet is at least 9014.
2)
Set the network link speed to Auto Negotiation.
3)
The receive buffer (RX Buffers) is at least 4096.
4)
Set the stream control of RX and TX to on.
5)
The receive descriptors (Number of RX Descriptors) is at least 2000 (Some network cards do not
have this setting)
