1.6. Transporting the power source
The macine is easy to lift, transport and handle, though the following procedures must always
be observed:
1. The machine may be moved by draging or pushing on the wheels after installing of enclosed wheels.
2. Always disconnect the power sourceand accessories from mains supply before any moving or
handling operations.
3. Do nat drag or pull equipment by the cables.
2. DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE
VARMIG 1600c and 1905c are semi-automatic welding machines intended for electric-arc welding in a
protective gas atmosphere. As protective gas the following may be used CO
2
,
Argon and gas mixtures
(Ar82% - CO2 18%), depending on the welding material (alloyed or non alloyed steels, bright metals and
their alloys). The machines are particulary suitable for welding thin sheet. They are ideal for vehicle
accident repair shops and smaller hobby jobs, where small welding intensity is required. The machine
construction meet all safety, reliability and design standards of modern welding technique.

shall not be liable for any damage resulting therefrom!
»Utilisation for intended purpose« shall also be deemed to encompass:
the observance of all instructions in the operating manual
the carrying out of all prescribed inspection and maintenance work.

VARMIG 1905c,1600,1600c:
is semiautomatic welding machine for arc welding without
shielding gas. Machine is intended for welding thin metal sheets, for hobby with low working intensity.
Machine is constructed to comply with safety, performance, design and construction standards.
Because of the specifics of welding without shielding gas a few recommendations should be noticed:

by using welding wire with mark DC a switch of secondary energetic conductors should be carryed
out. As instructed on sticker (NO GAS) by wire feeding mechanism. By VARMIG 1600 such position
of secondary conductors is standard. In this case a positive tension is in mass cable.

welding can be carryed out only on open space or in space with quality fume extraction.

In case we want to use standard welding method MIG or MAG (welding with shielding gas) again a a
switch of secondary energetic conductors should be carryed out as instructed on sticker (GAS) by
wire feeding mechanism.

4. CONSTRUCTION
These semi-automatic welding machines have compact design, small dimensions and therefore, they are
very mobile and suitable for work in smaller rooms, hard conditions, where frequently movement is
required. The extended bottom abowe the wheels is intended to carry the gas cylinder up to 10 kgs. The
wire-spool holder and the wirefeeder are installed inside the housing.
4.1 Additional: Welding semiautomat for welding with flux cored wire
Welding semiautomat VARMIG 1905c/1600/1600c of compact and small design has a high mobility and is
intended for welding on open space (never weld in small rooms without airflow). Wire disc with welding
wire and wire drive mechanism are situated in the machine. Welding torch is modified for flux cored wire.
5. CONFIGURATION OF THE MACHINE
5.1 The housing of the machines
The casing is made of high-quality material and it is modern-designed. The cover on the top is easy to
open, so the wire-spool can be changed easily.
5.2 Power transformer
H-insulation class. The primary and secondary coil is galvanicaly separated.
5.3 Silicon rectifier stack
It is made of cooling ribs with pressed-in diodes, which are connected to one-phase bridge. This rectifier
stack is used for rectifiing of welding current.
5.4
Choke
It has a great influence on the quality and dynamics of welding process. It's construction enables the
highest possible choking of frequency oscillation by welding-arc's short-circuit.
