Duct construction
z
Do not perform the following constructions.
z
Install the indoor supply air port and exhaust suction port as far apart as possible.
z
Use ducts that correspond to the model used (see the external dimensions).
z
If the temperature and humidity conditions behind the ceiling have a risk of condensation, provide heat insulation in the indoor supply
air/exhaust ducts. If the air temperature behind the ceiling becomes too high or low, provide insulation to the indoor supply/exhaust
ducts.
z
In cold regions, even if the product is used within the operating conditions, condensation or freezing may occur on the surface of the
main unit, duct connection, and the like depending on the conditions of the outside air and the temperature/humidity behind the ceiling.
If it is used under these conditions, provide additional insulation.
z
When using a metal duct to pass a metal lath, wire lath or metal plate of a wooden structure, provide electrical insulation between the
duct and the wall.
z
Install both outdoor ducts so that they have a downward slope to the outside to prevent rainwater from entering.
(Gradient of 1/30 or more)
Also, be sure to insulate both ducts to prevent condensation. (Material: Glass wool of at least 25 mm thickness)
※
Cold areas where the outside air temperature goes below -10°C, insulate the supply air (SA) ducts as well.
z
If the ceiling is hot and humid, be sure to provide ventilation in the ceiling.
z
When using a vent cap or round hood for the outdoor hood, do not install it where it will be exposed to direct rainwater.
In an area that is exposed to direct rainwater, it is recommended to use a deep hood (sold separately).
z
When using a deep hood, make sure that the duct length from the deep hood (outer wall) to the main unit is 1 m or more.
(2.5 m or more for types with the applicable pipe nominal diameter of
I
250)
z
Make sure that the pitch between the exhaust air outlet (EA) and outside air suction port (OA) of the outdoor outer wall is at least 3
times the duct diameter.
z
For the ceiling mounted duct type, consider providing two or more indoor supply air port (SA) on the indoor side in order to prevent
DRAFTSANDDISTRIBUTETHEAIRÛOW
Also, be sure to install the outlets in positions where the blown wind does not directly come in contact with people.
䐟
Excessive bending
䐠
Too many bending
Do not bend more than 90°
䐡
Duct diameter narrowed
down too much
䐢
Bending right next
to duct connection
(Do not squeeze the duct in the middle)
z
Wrap the duct coupling and connection with aluminum tape to
prevent air from leaking.
