ESIE18-15B – 2020.05

Connect the Megger ground test lead directly to the crankcase heater ground
wire.

CAUTION

Do NOT connect the Megger ground test lead to any other ground wire.

Measure the insulation resistance between the phase and ground wire. The
measured insulation resistance MUST be >100 MΩ.

Is the measured insulation resistance
correct?

Action

Yes

Return to the troubleshooting of the
specific error and continue with the
next procedure.

Replace the crankcase heater, see

"3.4.2 Repair procedures"

3.4.2 Repair procedures

To remove the crankcase heater

Prerequisite:

Stop the unit operation via the central controller.

Prerequisite:

Turn OFF the respective circuit breaker.

Remove the required plate work, see

"3.15 Plate work"

DANGER: RISK OF ELECTROCUTION

Confirm the rectifier voltage is below 10 V DC before proceeding, see

Open the compressor insulation.

Detach the spring that fixes the crankcase heater on the compressor.

Spring

Crankcase heater

Cut all tie straps that fix the crankcase heater harness.

Disconnect the crankcase heater connector from the appropriate PCB.

To install the crankcase heater, see
