Network Tests
Use
Network Tests
to troubleshoot possible network
issues. These tests check the signal being received
and being sent out.
Choose a network test from the drop-down list.

• Ping
: This test verifies successful communication
between the control computer and the
devices connected to it. The player sends
out a ping signal request to the target address and receives back a live output. The
results of the test are listed as ping statistics in the main window. The results include
the number of signal packets transmitted, the number of packets received, the
percentage of packet loss, and the time it took for the signal packets to travel round-
trip (minimum, average, maximum time). Refer to

Review the
Ping
test results with caution. If the target address has ping
disabled, it cannot send back a response.

• DNS Lookup
: This test uses the configured DNS servers to look up the IP address of the
specified domain name. Refer to

• Trace
: This test sends out a signal request to a
target address and receives back information
on how many hops the packet requires to
reach the host and how long each hop takes.
