DNS Configuration
The
DNS Configuration
section enables the operator to configure the domain name
server (DNS) address automatically or manually. Daktronics remote diagnostic tools
require that internet host names are resolved to their dotted IP address format for
communication. An example of such a resolution is the internet host name
www.
daktronics.com

is similar to IP address
configuration and uses information received
from a local DHCP server to configure DNS
information. This is the default setting.
• Manual:

when a DHCP server is not
available on the local network. The operator
can configure the player to explicitly use a
DNS server on the network or on the internet
to provide name resolution. Both a preferred and an alternate server can be

The player will query the alternate DNS server address in the event the
preferred server does not respond.
