Amplifier Enclosure
In sound systems, the amplifier is the last component before the drivers. It receives a
signal from the source equipment and amplifies it to power the drivers. The SS-200 system
offers a choice of either a portable rack (
house the amplifier.
Note:
Both types of amplifier enclosure are not to be mounted outdoors or exposed to
inclement weather.

Audio Control Rack
The Sportsound SS-200 audio system is compatible with all Daktronics standard control
racks. Refer to the manual provided with the control rack for proper operation.
Note:
The SS-200 will typically be controlled by the SSR-AM mixer. For more information,
refer to the
Sportsound SSR-AM Quick Guide (DD3638236)
.
Signal Cables
Audio cable is hardwired to the speaker using 30' (9.1 m) 2-conductor 12 gauge wire.
The speaker wire may be wired directly to the amplifier rack or, more commonly, to one
or more junction boxes in between for longer distances. Additional cable is as follows:
•
Portable
amp racks require a 30' (9.1 m) 8-conductor Speakon cable from a speaker
junction box.
•
Permanent
amp racks require 1-pair, 22AWG cable to a signal input plate near the
control location.
• Both portable and permanent amp racks use 12' (3.7 m) or 25 (7.6 m) XLR cable,
depending on which is provided with the control rack.
