Installation and connection
5.1
Requirements at the installation site
The DAS-100/200 storage system is designed to be installed and
operated in a standard 19" rack. Four height units (HU) and an
installation depth of at least 55 cm are required for its installation.
An air-conditioned and dust-controlled room is highly recommended
for its location.
Taking data protection into account
The system stores personal information subject to data protection.
For this reason, install the system in a room which can be locked
and which is only accessible by authorized persons.
Taking environmental conditions into account
The prescribed environmental conditions must be complied with at
the installation site, see technical data. Overheating, in particular,
can cause permanent damage to the unit.
The ambient temperature may not exceed 35 °C (95° F) during
operation. Always ensure proper ventilation.
Mains voltage
Check the mains voltage at the installation site before connection
and start-up. The mains voltage must match the rated voltage of
the DAS. The DAS may never be operated with a voltage other
than the specified mains voltage. Otherwise, the DAS can be
permanently damaged.
Mains connection
The DAS may only be connected via a UPS (uninterruptible power
supply) to a freely-accessible and grounded protected-contact outlet
in the building installation.
IMPORTANT
Possible loss of all recorded data and / or damage
to the HDDs.
Operate the DAS-100/200 using an UPS and a
programmable socket strip.
