4 Requirements
The device is designed for indoor use. If used outdoors, the device has to be mounted into
a corresponding weather-proof housing (ventilated, temperature-controlled).
4.1
General
Unfavourable local conditions may shorten the life of the product and can cause malfunc-
tions or damages.
Do not install/operate the device in places
• with large scale dust and dirt.
• with steam or oil vapors (e.g. kitchen).
• with direct sunlight.
• strong heat emission (e.g. radiator).
• with improper ambient temperatures.
• near sources of strong radiation (e.g. radio transmitters, magnetic fields).
• with corrosive surroundings (e.g. gases, salt water).
• insufficient air ventilation (e.g. closed cabinet).
4.2
Power supply
The device can be operated via PoE (Power over Ethernet, Class 0) or at 24 V AC.
Ensure that the existing network supports the PoE standard IEEE 802.3af if you want to
supply the device with power over Ethernet.
4.3
Outdoor
If used outdoors, the device has to be mounted in a weather-proof housing. Note that direct
insolation can cause very high temperatures inside the housing. In this case it is absolutely
necessary to use a ventilated, temperature-controlled metal weather-proof housing and a
sunshield if required.
To ensure optimal heat conduction, a metal carriage should always be used if the device is
mounted in a (weather-proof) housing.
