6 Connection and commissioning
First connect all required peripheral devices (mouse, keyboard, USB licence dongle, etc.)
and establish a network connection if required.
6.1
Connection of monitors
There are 3 PVS IV variants with different connection options available.
When connecting several monitors the most left monitor has to be connected to the first
active monitor output (M1). The next monitor on its right side has to be connected to the next
monitor output (M2). Further monitor have to be connected accordingly to M3 and M4.
Variant 1 (standard, with graphics card)

M1 and M2 (breakout cable) are active
l
M3 and M4 (main board) are inactive
Variant 2 (all four monitor connections active
)

M1 and M2 (breakout cable) are active
l
M3 and M4 (main board) are active
Variant 3 (without graphics card)

M1 and M2 (breakout cable) are inactive
l
M3 and M4 (main board) are active
NOTE
The monitor outputs
M3
and
M4
will be displayed as
M1
and
M2
in the configuration dialog.
NOTE
The main board’s DVI output (

) is not suitable for a VGA
adapter.
6.3
Commissioning
Ø
Switch on the periphal devices, if necessary.
Ø
Connect the supplied dongle to a USB port on the PVS IV.
Ø
Connect the power supply.
Ø
Switch on the PVS IV.
