13  Cleaning and service

13.1

Cleaning

The system should be installed in an air-conditioned and duct-controlled server room. This

means that no cleaning is generally required.
If,  nevertheless,  cleaning  is  required,  wipe  the  housing  (outside)  with  a  dry,  anti-static

cloth.

IMPORTANT

Do not use cleansing agents or detergents.
Some cleansing agents and detergents contain solvents that

can damage the surface of your system.

13.2

Service

If you replace a hard disk that the module has identified as defective, the new disk must be

activated after the system has been started for the first time.

This activation procedure is carried out in the

HDD management

configuration dialogue. To

use this function, a so-called Day Password must be entered for security purposes. You can

obtain this from the Dallmeier Support Team by quoting the serial number of the module.

Fig. 13-1

Proceed as follows to activate the new hard disk:

Ø

Log on to the module using a browser.

Ø

Click on

Service

in the menu bar (on the left).

Ø

Enter the day password in the login dialogue.
