Calibir 640 Series Overview
Description
The Calibir camera is a small form factor long wave infrared camera. The current sensor is a ULIS
640x480 LWIR uncooled microbolometer (UL 04 27 2 – 032 (gen 1)) and outputs 30 frames per
second.
The Calibir camera series features shutterless operation; this allows the camera to calibrate itself
dynamically during operation given the camera’s ambient temperature without having to use a
mechanical shutter and recalibrate. This ensures uniform image output regardless of operating
temperature without having to stop image acquisition.
The Calibir Series is available in 4 versions:
•
Calibir 640 GigE: Video output and communication with the camera use a gigabit Ethernet
connection. A general purpose opto-coupled input allows frame acquisition using an external
trigger. Power is supplied via a Samtec 10-pin connector or using Power-over-Ethernet
(PoE). Camera features can be controlled using a GigE Vision compliant software API, such
as Teledyne DALSA’s Sapera LT SDK. Within the Sapera LT SDK, we currently offer a generic
GigE Vision driver that supports all Teledyne DALSA GigE Vision cameras, including all
future Calibir GigE Vision cameras. The Sapera LT initial version that supports this driver is
Sapera LT v7.20. We strongly recommend using v8.10 or Greater for an improved User
Experience; http://www.teledynedalsa.com/imaging/support/downloads/sdks/
•
Calibir 640 AS: Calibir analog version, equipped with a single Samtec connector, provides
standard NTSC/ PAL color or RS170/CCIR monochrome video output. It also features serial
port access for firmware updates and adjusting parameters.
•
Calibir 640 AB: Calibir analog version, equipped with a single Samtec connector (for
power) and a standard BNC connector (for video output), provides standard NTSC/ PAL color
or RS170/CCIR monochrome video output. It also features serial port access for firmware
updates and adjusting parameters.
•
Calibir 640 Core: The camera engine version provides low-level hardware access to the
camera to allow users to create their own custom camera output module. The engine can be
configured to support analog or GigE Vision output.
This manual describes features available for the Calibir 640 GigE with firmware release 1.40.
