Software Interface: Configuring
the Camera
Using ASCII Commands
All of the camera’s functionality is configurable through its serial interface using the
three letter commands. You can use any terminal program (e.g. HyperTerminal) to send
serial commands to the camera, however, you must comply with following serial
protocol:
8 data bits
1 stop bit
No parity
No flow control
9.6kbps (at power up)
Camera does not echo characters
Command Format
When entering commands, remember that:
A carriage return
<CR>
ends each command.
The camera will answer each command with either
<CR><LF> OK >
or
<CR><LF>Error xx: Error Message >
or
Warning xx: Warning
Message
. The
>
character is always the last character sent by the camera.
The following parameter conventions are used in the manual:
i
= integer value
f
= real number
m
= member of a set
s
= string
t
= tap id
x
= pixel column number
y
= pixel row number
Example: to return the current camera settings
