Troubleshooting
BMS no contact
Error Description
Possible Causes
Possible Solutions
The VCU has not received any
CAN message from the BMS
within a specified time interval.
1) Blown fuse or defective relay
in MPDM.
2) Blown 12V fuse F19.
3) Defective relay K004, K005,
K006, or K007.
4) Loss of continuity caused by
defective LV harness or
connector.
5) Cut loop broken or faulty cut
loop wiring.
6) CAN communication problem.
7) Loss of power to MPDM or
MPDM internal failure.
8) VCU internal failure.
1) Replace defective fuse or
relay.
2) Replace 12V fuse F19.
3) Replace defective relay.
4) Replace LV connector or
harness per Service Manual.
5) Repair or replace cut loop
wiring.
6) Resolve CAN communication
problem.
7) Troubleshoot specific error.
8) Replace VCU.
No Contact fault messages appear on the HMI
display and remain while the fault is active.
Historical No Contact fault messages can be found
in the HMI logs by selecting the MC43[2]log.
