Troubleshooting
F0097, F0098 (Fault Reason 1)
Error Description
Possible Causes
Possible Solutions
Traction inverter has limited
regenerative braking (F0097) or
traction (F0098) due to overcurrent
in the high voltage batteries.
1) Adverse driving conditions or
SOC near 100%.
2) ESS or HV distribution fault.
3) CAN communication problem.
1) No action needed.
2) Troubleshoot specific error.
3) Resolve CAN communication
problem.
This error can occur if the vehicle is traveling at
maximum speed or on a steep slope, or if
regenerative braking is not possible because the
high voltage batteries are near 100% state of charge
(SOC). In these cases, the vehicle is functioning
normally and no troubleshooting is needed.
This error can also appear if there is a problem with
the HV network. In this case, error F0026 and/or
other errors raised by devices on the network should
appear. The technician should troubleshoot the
specific error.
The error may also be raised if the traction inverter is
not able to receive the current measurement via
CAN.
Propulsion System faults may also be
investigated and resolved using the ODIN
tool and the TM4 SUMO Powertrain
Troubleshooting Guide.
