Troubleshooting
F0097, F0098 (Fault Reason 4)
Error Description
Possible Causes
Possible Solutions
Traction inverter has limited
regenerative braking (F0097) or
traction (F0098) due to
overheating in the motor or traction
inverter.
1) Adverse driving conditions.
2) Cooling fault.
3) Cooling system problem.
4) Traction inverter internal
failure.
1) Park vehicle outdoors out of
the sun and allow it to cool
down for 2 hours.
2) Troubleshoot specific error.
3) Resolve cooling system
problem.
4) Replace traction inverter.
This error can occur if the ambient temperature is
very high or if driving conditions are very taxing
(maximum speed, maximum torque, steep uphill or
downhill). In these cases, the problem can be
resolved by allowing the vehicle to cool down.
Propulsion System faults may also be
investigated and resolved using the ODIN
tool and the TM4 SUMO Powertrain
Troubleshooting Guide.
